HYPOXYM 2026 – 1st International Symposium on Hypoxia, Exercise and Health aims to become an international reference forum for the exchange of scientific knowledge and the promotion of new research initiatives on exposure to hypoxia, ranging from terrestrial altitude and simulated hypoxia to other hypoxia-inducing strategies, and their applications to exercise, health, and human performance. The symposium will promote science communication and the exchange of experiences among researchers, professionals, students, and other stakeholders, fostering the application of scientific knowledge to professional practice.

The event will bring together researchers, healthcare and sport science professionals, technologists, and industry representatives to discuss the latest advances in hypoxia physiology, molecular biology, exercise adaptation, hypoxia technologies, and clinical applications, promoting a multidisciplinary and integrative approach and creating a meeting point between research, technological innovation, and professional practice.

The scientific programme will address both the fundamental mechanisms regulating the response and adaptation to hypoxia and their applications to sports performance, healthy ageing, chronic diseases, musculoskeletal health, women's health, rehabilitation, and other populations with specific needs. In addition, it will promote discussion on methodological standardisation, the safe application of hypoxia, the quality of hypoxia exposure systems, and the transfer of scientific evidence into professional practice.

The venue will strengthen national and international collaborations among research groups, foster cooperation among academia, the clinical sector, and industry, and promote the development of collaborative projects that advance knowledge and implement innovative solutions in the fields of exercise, health, and sport.
